What happened to the different versions (Club, School) and pricing levels (2nd & 3rd School Discounts), etc.?

We have simplified our product lineup and lowered our pricing at the same time! We now offer only one version of the program. It is identical for schools and clubs. Along with the lower pricing we have eliminated the complexity of multiple school discounts. In most cases this will save you money!

I can't find your phone number or an email address to contact you. What should I do?

We have transitioned to a completely Internet-based business model. Our software is available for free download, the purchase process is automated, and license codes are obtained and installed directly from the software. We offer a manual that you can download to help you learn how to use the software. Our goal is to produce software that is so easy to use that you don't need a manual!

In the past we found our time being monopolized by the expectation that we would provide unlimited computer support to anyone who ever bought our software. This is not only impossible--it is also an unprofitable business model. We are in the business of writing software, not providing technical support for the endless combinations of hardware, operating systems, printer drivers, etc. that people use.

Please feel free to download our software and try it out. If you like it and want to keep using it, just pay for a license code. If you need computer support we recommend that you take advantage of a local service provider in your area.

In the event that you need technical support from us, please understand that this is not included in the purchase of a software license. You can pay for support and we will be happy to provide any assistance that we can.

What are the system requirements & compatibility for School Manager Pro?

School Manager Pro runs on Windows XP, Vista, 7 and OS X up to Snow Leopard (10.6.x).
It will not run on Lion, Mountain Lion, or Mavericks (10.7, 10.8, or 10.9).
Update (Sep. 1, 2014): Coming soon -- SMP 2014 compatible with OS X 10.7+ (including Mavericks/Yosemite) and Windows 8/8.1.

Our software is designed to run on Windows XP or Mac OS X Snow Leopard. Some customers have experienced a few issues with Windows Vista and at this time we recommend staying with XP if possible. Some recent HP printers have issues with printing incorrect colors. We recommend avoiding HP OfficeJet printers due to these changes in how their software drivers work.

Please download and test the software on your system to insure compatibility. Once you are satisfied with the way it functions in your environment you should purchase a license code.

My software worked great for many years, but I recently bought a new printer and now I am having problems. (Or, I tried to move my program to a new computer running a different operating system and something stopped working, etc.)

We encourage you to test our software on your computer and with your own printer. Once you are satisfied that everything is working you should consider this computer a "production machine." Changes to a production machine should be approached with due diligence. Before getting rid of your printer try printing on your new model to make sure everything works like before. If for some reason you experience any issues, don't get rid of your old printer.

If a new operating system comes out, consider the ramifications of an upgrade before taking the plunge. If possible, test your software on a different computer running that version of the operating system so that you can confirm everything works.

Under no circumstances will we accept responsibility for incompatibilities with your computer, operating system, printer, etc. It is your responsibility to test all of this to your own satisfaction before purchasing a license code. It is also your responsibility to maintain your production system properly. We do not issue refunds for license code purchases under any circumstances.

If you make a change to your production environment that causes a problem please consult a computer support provider in your area. If you want us to attempt to resolve your issue you will need to purchase prepaid support from us. There is no option for free support by email, telephone or any other way.

My computer had a virus and my computer guy replaced it or wiped and rebuilt it. Now I don't have a working copy of School Manager Pro. Help!

We encourage you to properly back up and protect your production systems. In the event that your computer has problems that cause School Manager Pro to no longer function you can seek assistance from a computer support provider in your area. If you need help from us we are available to attempt recovery on a prepaid basis only.

Remember me? I'm your best friend. We went to Certification Camp together! How about some free support, buddy?

Most of our customers are good friends, school owners, and instructors that we have known for years or even decades. Unfortunately there is no possibility of providing all of you, our good friends, with free computer support for life just because you purchased a software license from us.

We want to help and encourage you to either seek local computer support or take advantage of our prepaid support offerings. Who knows? Maybe you can get free computer support from one of your students or a parent? If that doesn't work out, just bite the bullet and send us $60. How much do you charge your clients for your services?

I'm pretty sure you're kidding about charging for support! Why can't you give me free computer support for life? I bought your software!

We aren't kidding. I'm sure all of us would like to run our businesses as a charity, but that doesn't put kids through college!

Is there a way I can learn more about using School Manager Pro?

First you should download and read through our software manual. You'll probably learn how to do some things you didn't know before.

If you need more help you can pay for an hour (or more) of support and let us walk you through the problem you are having or the task you want to learn how to accomplish. Think of it as a private class!

If I don't get free support with my license code purchase then why buy it?

When you purchase a license code it gives you the legal right to run that version of our software forever. You also get free upgrades (if any) for a year.

If that doesn't seem like a good deal please don't buy a license. There might be other software available with free lifetime support. So definitely check out your other options.

I can't pay with a credit card, debit card or bank account online but I want support. What can you do for me?

Not much. Our services are only available on a prepaid basis and payment is only accepted via our website. If you are a large corporation that requires advance billing, purchase orders, lines of credit, etc. you should probably arrange for support through your own I.T. Department.

Another option for you might be to contract for support through a local service provider.

If we are the only ones that can help you and you are unable to pay in advance through the website drop us an email explaining your situation. We charge $125 an hour for corporate support with a five hour minimum and will be able to provide you with a mailing address to send payment in advance ($625 non-refundable). We will bill support against your prepaid balance until it is used up.
